Who am I?
Oh, but I would like to have
one true moment of knowing!
all my self conglomerate
all my self conjoined
mitochondria to meme aware
omniscience purloined
to be so intricate – far-reaching! -
diverse and yet detailed
to find my purpose nothing
but to compose myself. (x)
My name is Mia. I’ve lived in San Diego since 2001, and the last ten years have challenged pretty much everything I ever thought I knew. Profoundly. I’m still learning the world over again, including who I am, who I want to be. I have many questions; I’m not even sure how to tell if they’re the right ones. Probably questions aren’t right or wrong.
Yevgeny Yevtushenko said that a poet’s autobiography is his poetry. I think if you look through my site you’ll get a fair idea of me (although I’m not quite as crazy as my dreams might suggest).
My studies have included engineering, religion, philosophy, anthropology, women’s studies, nutrition, and urban agriculture. My art is almost entirely self-taught, the exception being a strong writing foundation from public school. My spirit guides are dandelions, my heroes are my children, and oh yes I might be a tree.
I live with my best friend, our two kids, three cats, and dog; and my life is one long game of Calvinball.
(The score is still Q to 12.)
